Perlas del Mar de Cortez – INGLES

Pearl Care

Each pearl is cultivated with the utmost care, from implantation to harvest, and is then set into exclusive, handcrafted jewelry. The production of Cortez Pearls® is limited to only 4,000 loose pearls per year, making Mexican pearls among the rarest and most exclusive in the world. Their beauty is 100% natural—free from chemical or physical enhancements. No other pearl will ever be exactly like the one you now own.

Your piece features a genuine Cortez Pearl®, cultivated at the only commercial pearl farm on the American continent—and the only one in the world to produce pearls from the Pteria genus (rainbow-lipped oyster). These pearls are grown in the Bay of Bacochibampo, located in Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico.

How do I care for my pearl?

To preserve the beauty and integrity of your pearl, clean it regularly with a soft, damp cloth made from natural fibers (such as cotton or silk). This helps remove sweat and dirt that could dull its luster over time.

Avoid using harsh or acidic jewelry cleaners (especially those containing ammonia), and never place your pearl in an ultrasonic cleaner. There are specific jewelry cleaners available that are safe for delicate gemstones like opals, amber, and pearls.

Pearls should be kept away from chemicals such as perfume or hairspray. As the old saying goes: “Pearls are the last thing you put on, and the first thing you take off.” Never wear them in swimming pools, as chlorine can damage them.

By following these simple tips, you and your family can enjoy your pearl jewelry for generations to come. At Perlas del Mar de Cortez, we also offer cleaning services for your pearl pieces.
